Good morning!!!
I’m getting tired of writing about how blue the mornings have been this week. I’m all for summer weather, but there’s no denying that it takes a great amount of effort to maintain an aura of originality during these trying times.
Today, the coast will see a stronger onshore flow than yesterday, and as the visible satellite picture above shows, the coast is still shrouded in low stratus and fog. This onshore flow should hold off encroaching into the I-5 corridor until tonight, meaning that the Puget Sound area should have another very warm July day to wrap up our workweek. At 11 a.m., it is already 77 degrees at Sea-Tac, so I have a feeling that we should be in the upper 80s once again today.
We will have a strong marine push come through overnight, giving us grey skies and cool conditions to start our weekend. Highs on Saturday and Sunday should be at least 10 degrees cooler than they were on Thursday and Friday.
Interesting weather is in store for Monday. An upper-level low settles over the area, and with ample divergence aloft on the eastern side of this low, an unstable atmosphere, and lots of wind shear, we could see some thunderstorms roaming around. I’ll have a more extended blog on this as this situation approaches.
Enjoy your Friday!
