A Warming Trend!

Good morning everybody!

Today will be a very typical summer day for us in Western Washington, with morning clouds giving way to afternoon sunshine as the sun warms up the lower atmosphere and burns off this low marine layer.

We will become warmer and sunnier as the week goes on due to a strong ridge of high pressure developing off our coast. Thursday, we should have fewer morning clouds, and highs should rise into the low-mid 80s throughout the Puget Sound region. As the below graphic shows, Friday will be our warmest day as the ridge moves further inland, with highs over 80 along the coast and flirting with 90 throughout the I-5 corridor.

Saturday will be similar to Friday, albeit perhaps a degree or two cooler. We’ll ‘cool off’ (relatively speaking) to the low 80s on Sunday and stay there for the beginning of next week, but I’m not seeing any inclement weather for the foreseeable future.

Have a great day!
