Good morning friends!
We are off to a cloudy start in Portland and throughout the Willamette Valley, and the Puget Sound area is seeing filtered sunshine as low clouds have been quicker to burn off there than areas further south. A frontal system is spreading some additional cloud cover over the NW Washington coast, but as the James Island webcam below shows, sun is still managing to break through the clouds, and the ocean is pretty calm.
Weak showers are approaching the coast at this time, but they should disintegrate before hitting the Western Washington lowlands as a ridge of high pressure builds over our area today. As I mentioned in my previous blog post, we have beautiful weather on tap for Sunday and Monday as the ridge builds, giving us mostly sunny skies with highs in the mid-upper 70s in the Seattle metropolitan area, warming into the mid-upper 80s as you go further south into the Willamette Valley.
Thanks for reading, and have a great weekend!
