Morning!
We had a weak marine push come on through overnight, covering the Chehalis Gap, Strait of Juan de Fuca, and coast on a layer of stratus clouds in the process. However, this marine push didn’t make it east to the Puget Sound lowlands, so once again, we have beautiful blue skies to start off our Thursday throughout much Western Washington.
Models have gradually been giving us more onshore flow and therefore have been moderating temperatures somewhat, but I still think that we could see some 90s today, particularly south of Olympia. Seattle should stay in the mid 80s, which is about 10 degrees above normal for this time of year.
Friday looks similar to today for the Puget Sound region. The coast will be a little bit cooler and cloudier in advance of an approaching upper-level trough. On Saturday, we get a more substantial marine push, and we should have cloudy skies to start off our weekend heein Western Washington.
We get a little bit of a break on Sunday, but next week looks to start off with a bang, as a low pressure system swings on through, perhaps setting off a couple thundershowers over the Cascades.
