Good afternoon my friend, hope your Wednesday is off to a great start!

We’ve got a band of light rain associated with a weak cold front coming through the northwest Olympic Peninsula right now. It doesn’t look like it will extend far south enough to bring more than a few sprinkles to the Seattle metropolitan area, but areas north of Everett can expect light rain later this afternoon and into the evening.

Thankfully, sunshine is on the way!

On Thursday, a ridge of high pressure will start to build over the area, resulting in clearing skies as the day goes on with highs on either side of 70 for Western Washington. Friday will be even warmer and sunnier, with highs in the mid 70s. Alas, another weak cold front will come through on Saturday, but after this feature moves through, a strong upper-level ridge will build off our coast, moving east as next week goes onward and giving us drier and warmer-than-normal conditions for the foreseeable future! Onshore flow will prevent us from hitting the 90s like we did the latter half of August, but I don’t think anybody will be complaining about that! With highs in the upper 70s to lower 80s under sunny skies, next week should be a fantastic opportunity to get outside and enjoy some warm weather.
